Philipp Löwe (Editor, Der Spiegel) discusses with Nadja Swarovski (Chairwoman, Swarovski Foundation), Thomas Gries (Head of, Institute for Textile Technology), Massimiliano Giornetti (Director, Polimoda), William Fan (Founder & Designer) and Georgina Johnson (Editor, The Slow Grind) the importance of Education.

Fashion education has a huge impact on the industry. It is the mirror of the future.

“A majority of the time we can do better when we know better and here’s how” is the beginning of a manifesto created by Georgina Johnson, the curator and artist behind The Laundry Arts. A future education system interconnecting science, business, art and design in which sustainability is prior and inclusion is not even questioned. How empowering the next generation of creative talent to unlock innovative new approaches? In order to deal with the interdependent social, cultural, ecological, racial, intersexual and financial issues within the fashion industry, education at all levels needs to play a key role in encouraging urgent change.
